isolation

“Being in Isolation can make or break you depending on who you’ve got stuck in there with you.”

Isolation was Elijah’s first full length play. He was awarded Young Writer Residency for the Takeover Festival 2019.

Isolation is currently going through an R&D period as a part of an Open Door residency at Theatre Royal Newcastle with Elijah and Director/ Dramaturg, Natasha Haws.

The bell has rung, books are out and a Year 7 has just been hit in the face with a shoe. A somewhat usual morning but today feels different. It marks the one year anniversary of an event that shook the school, students and teachers alike. And for those five stuck in Isolation, cabin fever soon sets in leading to tough conversations and revealing sides of themselves they wouldn't normally share.

Produced by The Customs House, South Shields May 2019 then remounted at Alphabetti Theatre October 2019.

Originally directed by Jake Smith
